ALL, THE INDUSTRY WE LOVE

Dispatches from British Arrows

Last week The Lift’s Avelino Rodriguez and Jose Barrera headed to London for the British Arrows—and what a night it was! We loved celebrating the leading voices in our industry, seeing our friends, and taking in the endless amount of amazing UK creativity on display.

The British Arrows is yet another event that captures what The Lift stands for. For over forty years, British Arrows has been “awarding and celebrating the innovation, bravery and artistry of moving image advertising,” and this year’s ceremony BA19 continued the theme. A whole slew of friends and collaborators of The Lift took home awards. Ian Pons Jewell, Daniel Wolfe, Billy Boyd Cape, and Kim Gehrig all took home multiple British Arrows, and our friends at Somesuch were awarded Production Company of the Year and Nike snagged Advertiser of Excellence.

One of the highlights of the night included a powerful speech by Cat Shanu from the Arrows’ diversity initiative, BAD. As continued champions of diversity in our industry, it was great to hear more about Cat’s journey in advertising and call out the many efforts of leaders in our space. Jason Stone, Editor of David’s Reviews, took a moment to chat more with Cat, and you can check out their conversation here!
