ALL, THE WORK WE LOVE, THE INDUSTRY WE LOVE

Spot On: R E S E T Content’s Nabil

Chances are that if you are a fan of music at all, you already know who Nabil is.

That’s because the R E S E T Content director has been the man behind the camera for countless industry-shaping music videos for the likes of Kanye West, Jay-Z, John Legend, Vince Staples, Antony & the Johnsons, Little Dragon, Bon Iver, Foals, and The Weeknd, to name just a few. Equally impressive is his reel of branded content work for the likes of Beats by Dre, Mercedes Benz, Bud Light, and more.

Nabil studied photography early on, and according to his very entertaining Wikipedia page, his big break came by way of a then little known artist, Kanye West. “Elderkin had heard a Kanye West mixtape and had tried to contact the rapper by looking up www.kanyewest.com. The website came up as unregistered but available for registration, so he bought the domain name on an impulse. three weeks later an executive from Roc-A-Fella Records contacted Elderkin to tell him the label had just signed Kanye…without a monetary transaction Elderkin agreed to transfer the domain name provided he could meet the new artist and do a photoshoot with him, these images went on to be the artist’s first publicity photos.”

From there, Nabil’s work continued to evolve, whether it was music videos, photojournalism, editorial shoots, books, films, and more. A particular favorite of ours comes by way of Beats, featuring LeBron James, from R/GA. LeBron’s intensity is unmatched as he vigorously works out to the soundtrack of Hozier’s runaway hit “Take Me to Church” in a film that welcomed the MVP back to his home team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, after four long years away. Of course that the team, with a heavy hand from James, would go on to win the 2016 Championships is the icing on the cake.

We’re excited to share with you some new work from Nabil, shot locally with us, very soon. Stay tuned.
