Zach Wechter’s World Cup wonder for Corona

If anything is going to get us World Cup ready, it’s shooting an incredible project with creative superstars—that’s just what happened with the latest Corona spot, directed by Zach Wechter.

The exhilarating local market project brings back 90s nostalgia with sports myth to create a spot that is truly a fun time for all. With the World Cup kicking off in just over a week, Aero Corona gets everyone excited and aims to take on the Mexican myth that our very own team cannot get past game five. With their very own hanger, Aero Corona faces the World Cup mystique by offering to fly fans to the fifth game—and that’s just one element of the fun.

We worked with Zach, Diktator, and the Leo Burnett Mexico team to film this airplane-centric spot in a way that was part celebration, part cultural spirit. Meant to serve as a safety video, the spot has it all: choreographed dancing with 90s boy band Magneto, lights, and a whole lot of fun. We loved collaborating with some of our favorites, and can’t wait to cheer on team Mexico!
