Mexico is home to some of the most innovative creators in the world, who draw on their environments and the city that they call home.
One of those exceptional minds is Rey Alquicira, Creative Director at McCann Mexico, whom we’ve had the great fortune of working with on the first two spots of the “Live it to believe it” campaign from CPTM.
Those spots highlighted various regions of Mexico and the extraordinary adventures that the country holds, from its urban centers to its most scenic landscapes. As the mind behind the spot, we were fascinated as to what makes Rey tick, how he’s able to continually innovate. So we asked him a few questions about what creativity made in Mexico means to him.
In one word, how would you describe Mexico?
Opportunity.
Why is it better to create here than anywhere else?
Mexico is a good place to create because it’s a big market where most of the big global brands have a presence.
What do you love most about your job?
The people you get to know. Advertising has given me the best friends, talented interesting people eager to learn and make new things.
