If there’s one thing we know, it’s that when we hear Daniel Wolfe has come out with a new piece of work, we’re finding the closest screen to watch.
If the Somesuch director’s viral work for Honda’s “The Other Side” or Paolo Nutini’s “Iron Sky” or The Shoes “Time to Dance” featuring a psychopathic Jake Gyllenhaal weren’t enough to convince you that this guy’s work is as spirited as it is skilled, not to mention diverse in subject manner, just check out his latest for Powerade.
“Churn” is out of Wieden+Kennedy Portland and centers around Seattle Seahawks football star Jimmy Graham and his rough childhood. It’s a 60-second powerful narrative that follows the athlete from childhood to his moments of glory now on the football field, re-enforced by the brand messaging that “we’re all just a kid from somewhere.”
It’s powerful and evocative, just like Wolfe’s portfolio.
