It’s caught our attention recently that some of our favorite production companies have been making impactful short films targeted at human interest stories for a greater good.
First came from our friends at Knucklehead. The UK-based company’s director Charlie Crane made a powerful film entitled Keys of Hope for Caritas International, a refugee charity. Through BBDO Dusseldorf, according to Knucklehead’s blog the film was shot with a “skeleton crew…in migrant camps in Sid – a migrant camp for Syrian refugees on their way to Croatia and other European destinations as well as Serbia and Hamburg, Germany.” Read more about Keys of Hope here.
Meanwhile, over at RSA, director Tim Nackashi took to the Mexican-US border for a short film entitled Through the Wall. The short documentary follows a fractured family, with mother and son living in the States and father living on the Mexican side of the border. The wall provides both a physical and emotional barrier for this defiant couple. Read an interview with the director on Through the Wall here.
Filmmaking with a compelling message is always something we can get behind. Kudos to Knucklehead and RSA on these works.
