Partizan’s Thomas Hilland is a rare hybrid of advertising creative, music video innovator, and branded film director.
Beginning his career as an art director on the brand side, working for Benetton’s Colors Magazine, he made the switch over to advertising as an art director for New York heavyweight Mother. It was during his time there that he started directing music videos during his down time. One such video for Norwegian electronic musicians Röyksopp garnered significant enough acclaim for Thomas with a nomination for best young director at Cannes, and top 10 directors at the Boards Awards that the shift from art director to director was complete. You can find him now employing his keen visual skills towards brands like Ballantine’s (seen above), Visa, Mercedes-Benz, and Samsung, alongside short films, documentaries, and of course, music videos.
We’re excited to welcome Thomas Hilland to Mexico City, and to re-team with Partizan, who we last worked with on Bacardí’s “The Night” with Michel Gondry.
