ALL, THE MEXICO WE LOVE, THE WORK WE LOVE

Spot On: RESET + Vesa Manninen

We’ve been enjoying the work of our partners in crime, RESET Content and director Vesa Manninen, since we first collaborated back in 2008.

Over the years, we’ve shot epic spots all over Mexico with the production company and Scandinavian director, each one better than the last.

Our Motorola spot, “The Maker,” was a fun brief out of Droga5 shot on a sound stage locally. AdWeek described the spot: “Director Vesa Manninen of Reset Content injects the proceedings with whimsical charm—and the impressive visuals are on par with previous entries in Motorola’s ‘Choose Choice’ campaign.” Watch the spot above.

Nintendo “Coin Craze” took “whimsical” to a whole new level with Vesa in a spot that combines playful and adventurous. We shot mostly in Santa Fe, just north of Mexico City, in modern residential buildings that could take on that animated quality key to portraying what Nintendo is all about.

Our most recent campaign with Vesa was for Travelocity, a momentous shoot for all involved. We turned Mexico into India and China, and shot on a soundstage in the Mayan Riviera for the spirited campaign, which we completed over five days locally. Factor in a helicopter, heavy visual effects, diverse casting, and traveling around to various States in the country, not to mention running the bulls in the streets of Mexico, and it was a production to remember. Check out the behind-the-scenes gallery below.
