Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with Academy Films and A+ on several projects with a slew of their talented directors like Martin de Thurah.
In light of having our friends from Academy back down in Mexico on a new project, we’re revisiting two of our favorites from Martin de Thurah and A+, a short film, “Mountain,” and the Feist music video “The Bad in Each Other.”
“Mountain” (above) is Martin de Thurah’s stunning short film that showcases just how visually arresting his eye is. It’s a narrative precursor to some of his most celebrated work (including his most recent turn for Under Armour with Michael Phelps, that has picked up many awards this year), showing his ability to bring cinematic perfection to short form story.
Martin de Thurah’s first project with us in Mexico was for Canadian singer-songwriter Feist. “The Bad in Each Other” was a beautiful beast of a project, requiring perfect casting and locations to create the stunning vignettes de Thurah directed in collaboration with his cinematographer Kasper Tuxen. Spin describes the video as “shot with cinematic perfection.” Watch for yourself.
