On a busy weekend in February, we “covered” four countries spanning three continents, and played a mean game of soccer in the process.
FIFA and Marketel tapped one of our favorites, Yael Staav, to direct their latest campaign, focusing in on who might be your next soccer idol. We were game for the challenge and especially enthused to have a female director directing young athletes (okay, “amateur” athletes might be a better classification), in a traditionally male-dominated sport.
We shot all around Mexico City, but you would never know it thanks to the likes of an amazing crew including Production Designer Roberto Bonelli and DP Jonathan Staav. From Japan to Nigeria, we covered each terrain in our home city, creating distinctive vignettes of each of our adolescent soccer superstars.
The result is a commercial beautifully woven together, completely with the always stunning-yet-delicate treatment that Yael brings to the table. Special thanks to 401 for bringing the job to Mexico!
