About his experience shooting this film Martin says, “Do it again – feels like its an unstoppable pop mantra of something out of hand. A spiralling hypnotic maelstrom which pulls inwards. The video touches our hearts desires – deep passions , the revolutions full of hope and excitement, a dream of freedom, obsession, the ecstasy and escapism – the darkness – and it ends in a mix of violence and laughter, freedom and the loss of free will. All of this somehow ends on a note of hope through struggle. Something worth fighting for. Do it again.”
The project took over a month to develop with Martin and the production team covering over 900 kms of ground to find the right location.
In the end we chose Hidalgo, Puebla and Mexico City as our final locations which included Mexico’s beautiful downtown area, 18th century haciendas in Puebla and the Pachuca city slums where we fired up the night for some epic chase scenes.
Over 100 actors were seen to cast the final 25 featured talent.
We’d like to thank Robyn and Röyksopp for coming down to Mexico and sharing their talent with The Lift.
