We were excited to have Vesa Manninen of RESET Content back down in Mexico to shoot a new spot for Gillette, which is sure to make you break a sweat.

The spot makes the distinction between sweating from exercise and sweating from sweat, the latter of which attracts that unfavorable odor. The best way to test this? Put our lead actor in the most stressful situations and make him sweat.

All of the scenarios are real, nothing was added in CG and there were no visual effects used. That means we indeed put our actor in a glass structure and hung him 100 meters above Mexico City, and yes, we did trap him in with several dozen spiders.

This is our fourth time around with Vesa, who we’ve worked with previously on spots for Motorola, Travelocity, and Nintendo. Never one to shy away from a visual challenge, we’ve long admired his ability to bring humor and fun to every brief, no matter how (in this case) unnerving it might be.
