ALL, THE WORK WE LOVE, THE INDUSTRY WE LOVE

We’ve got Ciclope Berlin on the brain

It’s one of the best times of the year: Ciclope Berlin is almost here. Leaders across the advertising industry will flock to the colorful city to experience two days of the best film craft in the world.

We’re proud sponsors of the event, and we can’t wait to immerse ourselves in the discussions, screenings, panels, and celebrations with our global community of crafters.

This year, Ciclope is celebrating its 10th rendition, and they’re playing homage by reviewing all the pieces of work within the Grand Prix, only this time there’s a special twist: everyone in attendance will have the chance to choose what they consider to be the leading work that’s popped up at Ciclope over the past few years.

In addition to the trip down memory lane, you can’t miss the collective of finalists for this year; the shortlist includes some of the standout commercials, music videos, short films, and branded content that graced the industry in 2019. A special shoutout to some of our friends who made the list: Daniel Wolfe and Kim Gehrig from Somesuch, Martin de Thurah and Epoch, Ian Pons Jewell from Reset & Academy, Sebastian Strasser from Reset & Anorak, and Smuggler’s Mark Molloy.

Before the award ceremony takes over, we’ll have two days of exceptional content. The list of speakers includes directors such as Sheila Johansson, Sebastian Strasser, Miles Jay or Ian Pons Jewell, cinematographer Ellen Kuras, creatives Mike Byrne (Anomaly) and David Kolbusz (Droga5), heads of production David Rolfe (BBDO) and Chad Hopenwasser (Anomaly), and many more.

Attendees will also have the chance to hear from Traktor, the multi award-winning Swedish directors collective, who will take audiences through their lively career that has included commercials for Lego, Tide, Volvo, and music videos for Fatboy Slim, Flaming Lips, and Madonna.

There’s also going to be a screening of the short film “Nimic” from Academy Award nominated director Yorgos Lanthimos—an exclusive project that can only be seen on the festival circuit as of yet. Part of the team of “Chernobyl” will be present as well, and we’ll hear from the DoP Ellen Kuras. Last, but certainly not least, we’ll have the chance to partake in HOPE, which is an exclusive meeting for the Heads of Production of different agencies.

Ciclope kicks off November 7th. Snag your last minute tickets and check out more from Ciclope Berlin right here.
