Cannes Round-Up

Another Cannes is over and done, and a slew of amazing work has now been officially entered into the Grand Prix canon.

A huge congratulations first and foremost to director Martin de Thurah. His emotive and cinematic commercial for Under Armour starring Michael Phelps from Droga5 New York was honored with the Grand Prix in Film Craft. Film Craft jury president Laura Gregory said that the work “completely immersed” jurors and we have no doubts.

Huge shout-outs to other collaborators of past and present for us:

Biscuit Filmworks won Gold in Film for “Rocket Car” and “Whale for Old Spice. Meanwhile, also in Gold in the category, Furlined took home honors for Geico “Forest” and RESET for Netflix’s “House of Cards – FU 2016.” In Silver in the category, our friends at Park Pictures were honored for Nike’s “Last,” Smuggler picked up a Lion for Nissan’s “Shoulders of Giants,” and Furlined once grabbed another Lion for Geico. Bronze in Film saw Biscuit, Epoch, 180LA, PRETTYBIRD, and Rattling Stick all awarded with Lions.

As stated above, the Under Armour spot directed by Michael Phelps won Grand Prix, and also took home two golds and a silver. Somesuch won Gold for Henessy, alongside RSA for adidas. Silver honors were given to Park Pictures, Smuggler, RESET, 180LA. And Bronze honors were bestowed on Reset, Smuggler, Station Film, Park Pictures, Stink, and Biscuit.
